These are more of the clean, un-angsty kind, and not ver well known, but they are pretty good reads. And I’m going to exclude Harry Potter ones because I have so many of those. Maybe in another post?
5. The Consort of Sage by Beautyinpain (Iron Fey)
This is a series of one shots about Isis, the half – breed bride of an Unseelie prince, and her journey as she discovers the dangers – and joys – of her husband’s court.
A really sweet set of stories which I liked because it gives you a deeper idea about the Unseelie Court, and Sage – the least-known prince.
4. No Matter What by Ayns and Sky (Sisters Grimm)
An epic Puckabrina story that features an Alternate Universe from book 4.
I don’t normally like AUs, but this one was too good to ignore. Most Sisters Grimm fans aren’t happy with the Puckabrina ending of the books, but this one is a good alternative. And some parts were soooo well written and soooo scarily terrifying!
3. The Truth About Lies by Scarlett Barnes (Inheritance Cycle)
Tabatha isn’t quite sure how to react when her best friend since childhood is a Dragon Rider. All she knows is that she has to aid him on his journey. But she has secrets of her own; secrets that she doesn’t even know about; secrets that Galbatorix wants. Now she must journey with Dragon to find the truth, and discover the history of her mother’s death. But will the truth destroy her and everything she believes in?
The Inheritance Cycle fandom is pretty small compared to ones like Harry Potter or Marvel, so there is, obviously, a far smaller pool of fanfics. But I loved this one because of Murtagh, and because I thought it was an interesting read from the point of an OC. It was creative and entertaining, and is among my favorites.
2. You’ve Got Mail by HAWTgeek (Percy Jackson)
It’s been six years since Percy left Annabeth abrubtly. Annabeth ran away to California to get away from it all, but she still doesn’t know why he left her. She tried to go on with her life and stay far away from Percy, who had tried to find her and finally explain, but she doesn’t know that Percy is AtlanticBoy16, the boy she’s been talking to for three months online.
Kind of based on the movie You’ve Got Mail (who’d have guessed) but it is really well written and I like that it is a change from the usual Percabeth fluff. It doesn’t paint a perfect world, but it’s still a happy ending.
1. Life Through Sea Green Eyes by Grand Admiral Chelli (Hunger Games)
Finnick Odair was once a simple fisherboy, maybe with a pretty face thrown in (which he was all too aware of). Then his name was picked from the reaping ball, and his life underwent a complete change. Finnick began to learn what it was to fear, to hurt, and most importantly, to know something worth fighting for. An Annick story.
I adore this ship, and I haven’t read many ones that I felt were realistic. This one though, was different. It was extremely well written, almost as good as the original. It was detailed and gripping, and many times I found myself crying. I definitely like the Mockingjay version of this fic better than Suzanne Collins’ version.
